| TECHNOLOGY FEATURES, PRODUCTS AND PATIENT BENEFITS
The InJet Digital Aerosol Technology:
- Utilizes a customized thermal droplet ejection technology similar to that used in the disposable ink cartridges of many of today's low cost printers.
- Creates very consistent droplet sizes ranging from 2 microns to 20 microns ideally suitable for:
- Pharmaceutical applications range from small molecules to proteins and peptides
- Therapeutic uses range from topical airway applications in the nasal and upper airways to deep lung delivery for systemic absorption
- Is targeted to provide aerosol flow rates of up to 100 micro
liters/sec.
- Provides a flexible platform suitable for a variety of system applications from disposable micro portable devices and cartridges to mains powered devices for home and hospital therapy use.
- Has no moving parts and is therefore ideal for devices requiring high reliability and robustness.
Fully digital design with Microprocessor control provides:
- Ability to capture and communicate Medical Informatics Information for use by Patient, Physician, and Health Care Provider which can be utilized to improve the quality of care while lowering the overall health care costs through better patient care
- Ability to integrate with biosensor feedback to provide "closed loop" automatic adjustment of dose or dose mixture from separate drug tanks
- Access security to control over medication
- Ability to remind patient that dosage is due to be taken
- High level of dosage accuracy and titration
Low velocity delivery of aerosolized liquid drugs delivered with breath activation insures delivery timing and rate compatible with patient breathing to deliver more drug at the targeted site at the right times.
A separate "Smart" control device and disposable drug/engine cartridge means:
- Disposable medication cartridges can contain detailed patient level instructions which can be read by the smart device
- Only one smart device required to support multiple medication cartridges for a patient taking various inhaled medications
Multiple Drug Chambers in a medication cartridge facilitates the delivery of multiple drugs at independent rates either simultaneously or independently.
